if you were an activator reservist at one point, if you’re a retiree and you get a call from military law enforcement asking you to please come on down to the station because they want to have a little chat with you, say no.
Say no, say no every time.
If military law enforcement is the one who’s even looking at it, that means the state don’t want it. That means the feds don’t want it. That means they really don’t have anything in there. The scraps. You can literally walk yourself into charges by making a statement. Making an inconsistent statement. Volunteering to take a polly (polygraph). Don’t do it. We had a case recently, reservist, long time ago, was on orders. Somebody decided they wanted to accuse him. He made not one not two, but three statements before calling us. You know what the prosecutor said. That’s the only reason they file charges.
That’s it.
Don’t help yourself into charges. Military law enforcement calls you, trying to get you to come on down and make a statement, and they’re all sounding super friendly. Don’t do it. Don’t do it. Don’t walk yourself into charges. Messy military lawyer.
